“Bringing the Vic back to the Village”
We believe a local pub and restaurant can offer a lot more than great service of drinks and food, therefore, we are keen to support our community where we take a proactive role in engaging in community initiatives and charitable work.
It’s our aim of being the heartbeat of the village of Walshaw and the surrounding area, it is important that we listen to the local community, our customers and our employees, who may suggest ways in which we can support. Some of the ways in which we aim to enhance the lives of those in the local area are;
1. Delivering work experiences such as Apprenticeships and local recruitment.
2. Fundraising for a local charity.
3. Providing one day per year paid for volunteering activities.
4. Donating food surplus to local food banks.
Other suggestions are also welcome and will be considered.
Our ultimate goal is to provide a positive impact within the local area where we encourage employees to regularly take part in volunteering/community projects.
Many of our employees are local and are members of the Walshaw community and so, what better way to build long-term relationships with others in the area through your work and volunteering.
EMPLOYEE VOLUNTEERING POLICY
The Company’s volunteering policy sets out its position on giving employees the opportunities to become involved in volunteering projects and take an active part in the local community. The Company encourages at least one day of volunteering leave per year where this day will be paid.
If you have an opportunity for us to further develop our involvement, or feel your organisation or someone you know could benefit from our work in the community please feel free to contact us.
